- La severa reducción de recursos al agro, pone en peligro a un sector en el que descansa el desarrollo del país, sostiene el subsecretario Gerónimo Color Gasca
Morelia, Michoacán, a 21 de diciembre de 2018.- El campo mexicano y en especial el michoacano, es el sector en el que descansa de manera importante el desarrollo económico del país, por lo que es inaceptable y preocupante el recorte al agro en la propuesta federal de presupuesto 2019.
Así lo señaló Gerónimo Color Gasca, subsecretario de Desarrollo Rural y Agroalimentario, quien advirtió que de no subsanarse dicho recorte se estaría frenando el desarrollo del agro, principalmente en las zonas de mayor marginación.
«Michoacán es un claro ejemplo de la importancia que tiene este sector, que durante nueve años consecutivos se ha mantenido en el primer lugar nacional en el valor de la producción, gracias a las exportaciones agro-frutícolas y al respaldo de políticas públicas integrales», destacó.
En ese sentido, el funcionario resaltó la defensa iniciada por el gobernador Silvano Aureoles Conejo de una equitativa distribución de los recursos federales ante la Cámara de Diputados, y desde la Conferencia Nacional de Gobernadores (Conago), haciendo énfasis al financiamiento al campo.
Señaló que, de manera paralela, la Sedrua está trabajando y haciendo sinergia con organizaciones campesinas y la Asociación Mexicana de Secretarios de Desarrollo Agropecuario del país, de la que forma parte Rubén Medina Niño, titular de la dependencia, además de la Confederación Nacional Ganadera, para buscar que a través del Congreso de la Unión se destinen mayores recursos para este sector.
«Preocupa que programas como el de concurrencia con entidades federativas, no tenga ni un solo peso en la propuesta, toda vez que es un programa que potencializa los recursos al campo para los estados y municipios, al fomentar la modernización y equipamiento del agro y dotarlo de infraestructura», evidenció.
Además, agregó, pone en riesgo las agroexportaciones, porque se disminuyen considerablemente los recursos destinados a la sanidad e inocuidad agroalimentaria, rubro por demás importante que permite garantizar la comercialización de productos agrarios.
Otro de los programas que se verá severamente afectado, es el creado por la FAO-Unesco, modelo que se aplica en Michoacán a través del Proyecto Estratégico de Seguridad Alimentaria.
Dicho programa tiene como finalidad apoyar y mejorar la alimentación y nutrición de las familias del campo que viven en zonas de alta y muy alta marginación, así como potenciar el desarrollo de capacidades de las mujeres y los hombres del sector rural.
Enfatizó que, en la propuesta presentada el día 15 del presente mes y año, se observa también la disminución preocupante del programa de Extensionismo Rural, además de la desaparición de varios otros programas, lo cual es inaceptable, insistió.
