San Miguel Curahuango, Maravatío, Michoacán, 3 de marzo de 2019.- La unidad de la sociedad y el trabajo solidario y productivo, son los activos principales que tiene Michoacán para superar los obstáculos que contienen su desarrollo. Hoy, en un escenario de transformación, Michoacán será un ejemplo nacional de prosperidad, seguridad y trabajo, sostuvo la diputada Laura Granados Beltrán, al encabezar en esta comunidad el tradicional Carnaval de San Miguel Curahuango 2019.

Orgullosa hija de esta activa comunidad, Laura Granados y el jefe de tenencia Simón Cruz Andrade, coronaron anoche a la reina del carnaval Paloma Viridiana González Soto, una jovencita estudiante. Más tarde compartieron con los habitantes de San Miguel en una verbena popular, con antojitos tradicionales, juegos mecánicos, música y espectáculos culturales.

Esta mañana, la legisladora de MORENA recorrió las calles de la tenencia al frente del grupo que inició el recorrido de los carros alegóricos y los grupos culturales, que le dan sentido a este tradicional carnaval, en el que se fusionan elementos culturales religiosos y costumbristas.

La tenencia de San Miguel de Curahuango en el municipio de Maravatío, Michoacán, es un asentamiento indígena con presencia temprana, ubicado prácticamente dentro de la ciudad de Maravatío, aunque mantiene sus rasgos propios de identidad cultural.
Tras la llegada de los españoles a lo que hoy es territorio mexicano, en 1521, y después del reparto de tierras entre los soldados que acompañaron a Hernán Cortés, aquí se desplegó un asentamiento español a principio del siglo XVII, del que existiría una cédula real de Carlos V, el monarca español, que garantizaría la posesión española, muchos años antes, aunque no hay una fecha precisa de la fundación de la comunidad española y tampoco del asentamiento indígena.

Desde principios del siglo XVII para acá, la comunidad prosperó económicamente con dos actividades principales: la agricultura y el comercio. Ubicada estratégicamente en las proximidades de lo que fue el camino real a la Ciudad de México que conectaba al bajío (Morelia y Guanajuato) con el centro del país, la tenencia de San Miguel de Curahuango fue y es una comunidad trabajadora y solidaria. “Y me siento profundamente orgullosa de mis raíces y de mi pueblo”, aseguró Laura Granados.

A este tradicional carnaval asisten habitantes de diferentes comunidades vecinas de San Miguel y de prácticamente todos los municipios del oriente michoacano. Junto a la reina del carnaval Paloma Viridiana González Soto, hicieron el recorrido la Señorita Simpatía Yalitza Nava; la Primera Princesa Paula Cruz Bautista; y la Segunda Princesa Ma. Guadalupe Martínez Bautista. El carnaval concluye el próximo 5 de marzo.
