Morelia, Michoacán. Elpidia Carrillo nació en un hogar humilde en Parácuaro, y a muy temprana edad incursionó en la industria del cine. Pronto alcanzó papeles principales en Hollywood, que la llevó a compartir créditos al lado de celebridades como Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Woods, Jack Nicholson y Jimmy Smiths.

Hace casi 40 años llegó al cine en los Estados Unidos y desde entonces ya pertenece a esa sociedad, sin embargo, ella no se olvida del pueblo que la vio nacer, por lo que sigue realizando diferentes actividades como el festival internacional de cine sin cines que en este año cumple cuatro ediciones de celebrarse.

Elpidia Carrillo ha participado en más de 35 proyectos como el Salvador, Depredador, Bread and Roses, Nine Lives, La otra conquista, Tortilla Heaven, Seven Pounds, Mother and Child, Familia Gang y My Family, entre otras más que la han llevado a nominaciones en los Globo de Oros, Independent Spirit Awards, Ariel y Emmy.
