Apatzingán, Mich., a 25 de noviembre de 2019.- El Instituto Municipal de la Mujer Apatzinguense (IMMA), llevó a cabo la carrera naranja para conmemorar el Día Internacional de la Erradicación de la Violencia contra las Mujeres y las niñas, con la finalidad de concientizar a la población sobre esa acción que lacera los derechos de ese sector.
La carrera naranja inició afuera del palacio municipal, para partir hacia el monumento al General Lázaro Cárdenas y regresar al punto de inicio, donde se premiaron a los tres primeros lugares.
El presidente municipal, José Luis Cruz Lucatero, acompañada por su esposa Minerva Guízar y la titular del IMMA, Endi Herrera, fue quien se encargó de realizar la premiación y señaló que en la actualidad la violencia contra las mujeres, no debería existir, “sin embargo es algo que persiste y en lo que seguimos trabajando”.
Destacó que hoy, hay un sinfín de instituciones que se dedican a la protección de los derechos de las mujeres, “pero lamentablemente, la violencia ocurre más en el seno familiar y es ahí donde se debe atacar”.
Expuso que en lo que compete al gobierno municipal, se hace lo posible en coordinación con el gobierno del estado y la federación, para erradicar la violencia contra las mujeres, “pero son ellas quienes deben alzar la voz, para salir de esa vida de violencia que llevan, de lo contrario todos los esfuerzos nunca serán suficientes”.
Cabe destacar que después de la carrera naranja, el IMMA llevó a cabo una conferencia sobre el mismo tema, impartida por el Coordinador de Estudio, Capacitación y Divulgación de la CEDH, Gerardo Herrera Pérez.
