Sabías que, en un día como hoy del año 1787, nació en Mérida Yucatán, el Lic. Andrés Eligio Quintana Roo.
Hijo de José Matias Quintana y María Ana Roo, contrajo nupcias con la Heroína, Leona Vicario, en Tlalpujahua Michoacán.
Destacado Insurgente, en la Guerra de Independencia de nuestro País, fue Diputado integrante, del Congreso de Chilpancingo, en 1913, Presidió la Asamblea Nacional Constituyente y redactó el «Manifiesto al País», donde se declaraba la Independencia.
Cómo Diputado Constituyente por la Provincia de Puebla, contribuyó con sus luces, a la elaboración del Decreto Constitucional para la Libertad de la América Mexicana, la Constitución de Apatzingán, aunque al momento de la Sanción, no pudo firmarlo, pues se hallaba ausente, por atender diferentes asuntos del servicio de la Patria.
Fue Diputado Constituyente de 1814, Senador, Secretario de Estado, Magistrado de la Suprema Corte y Miembro del Gobierno Tripartita.
Este Héroe Nacional, falleció el 15 de abril de 1851, sus restos descansan en el Museo Nacional de Historia, en el Castillo de Chapultepec.
