DE MÉXICO, 09 DE JULIO DE 2019.- Luego de la la sorpresiva renuncia de Carlos Urzúa al frente de la Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público del gobierno de México, el presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador nombró al originario de Hidalgo, Arturo Herrera Gutiérrez, como nuevo titular de la dependencia.
Herrera es un «funcionario con dimensión social», destacó AMLO al referirse a Herrera Gutiérrez, nacido en 1966 en el municipio de Actopan, Hidalgo.
Por su parte, Herrera Gutiérrez aceptó el cargo en un video difundido este mediodía, y afirmó que México es un país con muchas necesidades por lo cual la política económica debe ir encaminada a atenderla.
López Obrador destacó que Herrera Gutiérrez proviene de una familia emanada del movimiento social y lo exhortó a dirigir la economía en beneficio de los más pobres del país.
Respecto a la renuncia de Urzúa, AMLO reconoció que el ex secretario no estaba de acuerdo con la política económica del gobierno, y afirmó que el cambio en el país no puede «poner vino nuevo en vasijas viejas».
Herrera Gutiérrez viene trabajando con AMLO desde la Jefatura de Gobierno de la Ciudad de México, cuando el hidalguense asumió como su secretario de Finanzas. Su labor fue vital para López Obrador, pues arregló el desastre político dejado tras la salida de Gustavo Ponce, exhibido apostando en Las Vegas en aquel infame intento por descarrilar al hoy Presidente de México.
Su nombre es clave entre quienes han ejecutado las políticas públicas que han hecho famoso a Andrés Manuel, de tal manera lo llamó a ser subsecretario de Hacienda para la Cuarta Transformación, cuando Herrera aún se desempeñaba como funcionario del Banco Mundial.
